[05:26:28] <wjlafrance> Hey Archers, I just got my first installation of Arch Linux 32 i486 installed. It doesn't really count because it's in a Proxmox VM guest, but CPU type is pentium and it's all working with network access and rudimentary X11 (fluxbox, no web browser). This was a trial run before giving it a try on my ThinkPad 600, which is Pentium II based, but with no SSE I can't run the i686 branch.

[14:51:52] <abaumann> wjlafrance: looking forward to have one person more using the i486 branch.. :-)
[14:52:18] <abaumann> I had to stop the buildmaster and the build workers, there is a lurcking issue around gnupg and the keys (I see segfaults when updating keys)..
[16:18:16] -!- abaumann has quit [Quit: leaving]
[16:28:18] <buildmaster> Hi abaumann!
[16:28:18] <buildmaster> !rq abaumann
[16:28:19] <phrik> buildmaster: <abaumann> idea: we make it interactive in the first call of pacman: "Pacman detected you system has SSE2, do you want to upgrade to get a blazing fast 32-bit machine? yes/no/maybe" ;-)

[16:44:28] <bill-auger> wjlafrance: just to be pedantic (which i enjoy sometimes), "branch" is not an accurate term for a binary repo - "channel" is more accuate - a binary repo is a distrbution channel - "branch" is referring to the upstream source code history of one specific program, which is not interesting to most distro users

[20:23:47] <KillerWasp> "maybe". nice option. maybe it can work in a quantum processor.

[21:52:16] <T`aZ> have you noticed any improved performance related to kernel 6.1, mglru, swap usage/responsiveness and low memory machines yet ?
