sum_service_x64 does not launch locally in SLES 12 SP3 beta 2

Symptom

When you launch SUM using the command service sum_service_x64 locally in SLES 12 SP3 beta 2, the following error is displayed after executing the command launch_sum.sh:

Error: Cannot sum_service_x64 locally. Reason: Timeout waiting for service to launch.

Cause

The loopback interface is not configured on the system.

Action

Ensure that the loopback interface is configured and the localhost entry is present in the /etc/hosts file.
