Introduction
============
This file describes the procedure to use for upgrading firmware
on HP Gigabit Server Adapters mentioned in the PRODUCTS AFFECTED
section of this document.

User guides and additional HP Network Adapter information can be found at:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/networking/index-nic.html

Packaging
=========
This firmware upgrade utility is released in SCEXE format. The
file is a single self-extracting executable that unpacks the
component, runs it, and cleans up. This one-step process replaces
the rpm format which would require three steps to install, execute
and remove.

Performing the Firmware Upgrade
===============================
1. This utility requires the ethernet interface to be up. You can
bring up an ethernet interface by using the following command:

	# ifup ethx

	or

	# ifconfig ethx up

2. Firmware can be upgraded interactively using following command:

	# ./CP00xxxx.scexe

3. The help menu lists all available command line options.

	# ./CP00xxxx.scexe -h

Firmware Upgrade Log
====================
Results of the firmware upgrade are written to nicfwupg.log which
gets saved in the current working directory.

Configure IPMI: Disable/Enable
==============================
1. This utility requires the ethernet interface to be up. You can
bring up an ethernet interface by using the following command:

	# ifup ethx

	or

	# ifconfig ethx up

2. Verify current configuration status using the following command:

	# ./CP00xxxx.scexe -c

3. Configure IPMI by sending the following command:

	# ./CP00xxxx.scexe [ interface ] ipmi [ options ]

	options:
	0 - Disable IPMI
	1 - Enable IPMI
