Using Localhost Guided Update in Interactive mode
- In the navigation menu, click Localhost Guided Update.
-
Click
Interactive.
NOTE:
If the iLO of the server is configured in one of the High Security modes, you will be prompted to enter iLO Administrator credentials.
-
SUM displays the current baseline selected for the Localhost.
- To use the currently selected baseline, continue to the next step.
- To use a different baseline, click the X next to the baseline. Select Assign different baseline to select another Baseline or Additional package.
- Click OK. SUM begins inventory on the baseline and Localhost.
- Click Next after SUM finishes the inventory.
- Recommended updates that are ready to deploy are highlighted in blue and SUM displays a green icon in the Ready to proceed column. If a component has a red button in the Ready to proceed column, it means that there is a dependency to resolve before SUM can deploy that component. Click on the red icon to get details on the dependency. Deselect the item if you want to deploy the other updates and come back later to perform this update.
- If you selected Deploy all updates, select a duration of time before SUM reboots.
-
Click
Deploy.
NOTE:
Items that are up-to-date or optional are not highlighted. Click Force to deploy these updates. To globally select all components to rewrite or downgrade, select Actions > Advanced Options and select the Rewrite and Downgrade options, and the Reboot options. To view the component details, double-click an update. If you want to view the information in the new update, click the hyperlink.
The global select options are as follows: Upgrade Firmware and Software, Upgrade Firmware, Upgrade Software, Downgrade & Rewrite Firmware, Downgrade & Rewrite Software, Downgrade & Rewrite Both, Downgrade Firmware, Downgrade Software, Downgrade Both, Rewrite Firmware, Rewrite Software, and Rewrite Both.
- SUM performs component analysis before deploying updates.
-
Review the installation log files.
NOTE:
You can also check the live logs during deploy and view logs after deploy.
In offline mode, if SUM failed to deploy updates, click the Reboot to exit SUM and reboot the node to the host operating system.
You can deploy updates in an iLO task queue, or save install sets and update the existing recovery set on iLO Repository. SUM does not support deleting any install sets on iLO Repository from the Localhost Guided Update function.
