Deploying firmware for HP ProLiant servers using the HP Service Pack for ProLiant

The SPP is a re-packaging of HP ProLiant system software and firmware for HP ProLiant servers and their options, and BladeSystem enclosures including:

  • OA

  • VC

  • 3 Gb and 6 Gb SAS switches

HP SUM deploys components to supported Windows, Linux, and VMware (supported firmware and driver updates only) operating systems. The single SPP image contains a comprehensive collection of firmware and system software components including drivers, agents, tools, utilities. These components are tested, managed, and deployed together as a single solution.

[NOTE: ]

NOTE: HP SUM supports deploying RPM components to Linux nodes.

Each SPP release includes a version of HP SUM you can use to deploy the SPP components. You can download the latest version of HP SUM from the HP SUM website at http://www.hp.com/go/hpsum/download.
