HP SUM supports local and remote deployments. HP SUM runs in Windows and Linux in online and offline mode. For more information about deployment modes, see Deployment modes.
Mode | Description |

GUI | An easy-to-use browser-based GUI that enables deployment and maintenance of system software and firmware components to multiple systems in a single session. |
CLI | The CLI enables you to script custom installations. This mode might not support all functions of the GUI and interactive CLI. |
Interactive CLI | The Interactive CLI allows you to script most of the commands that are available in the HP SUM GUI. Functionality available from the interactive CLI includes adding nodes and baselines, deploying nodes, obtaining component logs, and generating reports. For more information, see the HP Smart Update Manager User Guide. |
