Staging an update to a remote node

You can stage an update to a remote node in which HP SUM copies all updates, a version of HP SUM, and supporting files to the remote node before performing the update. You can then run the update locally on the node, or run it remotely. Staging updates on remote nodes helps to minimize the network traffic used when you deploy updates.

  1. From the Nodes screen, select a node to update, and then select Actions → Stage/Deploy.

The Stage screen opens and displays the node where HP SUM is going to stage the updates.

  2. In the Baseline to Apply section, HP SUM displays the baseline and additional package that you have assigned to the node. To assign another node, click X, and then select the baseline or additional package you want to use.

  3. Click Stage.
